The Physical Chemistry Department of the Institute Charles Gerhardt Montpellier (ICGM) is composed of four teams. Their research combines theoretical and experimental methods to study various physico-chemical phenomena observed in complex materials.
The fields of application are vast, ranging from the study of reaction mechanisms in homogeneous catalysis, to the characterization of adsorption phenomena in the MOF materials, as well as the study of the piezoelectric materials, or materials used as vectors of active substances.
The skills applied in the Physical Chemistry Department cover a wide range of activities. Multiscale of modelling of the structure and of the dynamics of complex systems are represented in the teams of the department.
At the experimental level, the use of controlled elaboration and characterization of textured and functional nanoporous materials for applications in catalytic processes, and in the health and energy fields, is one of the strengths of this department.
