Jerzy Zajac is currently responsible for the development, realisation and teachings of the first year of a master program in the field of Materials Chemistry at the University of Montpellier 2. He also leads a research group “Interfacial properties: Mechanisms, Interactions”, dealing with interfacial phenomena at Solid-Liquid and Solid-Gas interfaces, as a member of Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier.
He received a degree of Engineer from the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, Poland, a Ph.D. (in 1988) in Chemistry from the University of Lublin, Poland, and a Sc. D. (in 1999) from the University of Montpellier, France. He started his research and teaching career as a Lecturer at the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, Poland, before undertaking, in 1991, a Visiting Assistant Professor position at the CNRS in Montpellier, France. He was appointed Lecturer at the University of Montpellier 2 in 2001 and became Full Professor here in 2005.

He has published about 100 papers and review articles in refereed journals and books. He is regularly invited to review articles for numerous international journals in the field of Materials, Surface and Colloidal Sciences, he acts as a reviewer in some national and international research funding programs, and he is also an Associate Editor for Springer’s Chemical Papers.
