Claire Negrell was born in 1977 in Pézènas, France. She received her M. Sc. Degree in Chemistry from the Engineering School of Chemistry of Montpellier. Then she joined CNRS as engineer position and worked at the Chemistry Laboratory of Polymers in Thiais (France) during 4 years (2001-2005).
In 2006, she went in the polymer team of Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier.

She received her PhD degree in 2010 from the University of Montpellier, France on the synthesis of phosphorylated polymers as flame retardants additives for fabrics under the supervision of Professor Bernard Boutevin
