Research topics

  • Historically my research focuses on the functionalization of polyoxazolines by various initiators and terminating agents and the synthesis of amphiphilic copolymers using different hydrophobic polymeric blocks (PCL, lipids, PS, polymethacrylates). Some fondamental kinetic aspects of the cationic ring-opening polymerization were also investigated to go to well-defined pseudo-peptides. For recent years, the self-assembly in water of amphiphilic copolymers based on POx was examined and demonstrated the occurrence of singular morphologies of nano-objects including spherical, oblate nanoparticles until more sophisticated helicoidal nanofibers. Recently responsible polyoxazolines including thermo- and photo-sensitive POx were studied using active oxazoline monomers or active terminal chains.

  • The second part of my research concerns the bio-based compounds such as lipids to elaborate polymeric materials (plasticized films, epoxy or polyurethane resins). This expertise also focuses on the functionalization of lipidic derivatives to produce surfactants, plasticizers, etc.
