ICGM congratulates Michel Wong Chi Man, a researcher in the Porous & Hybrid Materials Department, on receiving the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Sol-Gel Society (ISGS).

The award was presented during the 23rd International Sol-Gel Conference, held in Lisbon, Portugal, from August 31 to September 4, 2026.
For many years, Michel Wong Chi Man has conducted research on porous and hybrid materials, with a particular focus on the design of silsesquioxane-based materials. During the Sol-Gel 2026 conference, he also delivered a plenary lecture on the design of organosilanes for developing structured and functional materials.
This international distinction recognizes his longstanding contributions to the scientific community in the field of sol-gel science and technology and highlights the international profile of the research conducted at ICGM.
